I have had several creative careers, including apparel and interior design, so no matter what I've done, I have pursued an artistic life. But, nearing 40, I found that I had never used my fine art education, and time was wasted...One day, I turned to a friend at the furniture store where I worked as an interior design consultant and said, "You know, I just wanted to paint murals!" The company went out of business, and I took that opportunity to continue my art education and become a decorative painter. This way, I could continue to make people's homes beautiful and create art.

During this pursuit, I met Michel Nadai, France's premier craftsman; with him, I studied the art of trompe l'oeil. I had found a niche where I could incorporate interior design and fine art! This is when my career as a fine artist also began! Since 2006, I've been a full-time artist selling art online, in galleries, and festivals.

After opening my shop on Etsy, I became a lot more active in my local community. As a self-employed artist, I embraced the handmade movement and its ideology. Living green is ideal for a handcrafted artisan like me since I can buy and sell locally and support the community around me, its businesses, farms, people, and animals! When I can, I purchase locally-made products and raw materials. It's just the green thing to do!

Smelly Rhino Studio is attributed to my adoration of animals and reflects my patented silliness. But if I could help endangered species with my art, that would be a fantastic bonus! Over time, I have become more actively involved in supporting local animal shelters for the needy critters around me. It has become one of my missions.

In my shop, you will find a variety of art, including custom pet portraits and ornaments, and an abundance of silliness. In fact, silly is my specialty! Ask me to do some for you if you like! Of course, I will always paint the posh pose, too! I want to make people happy with my art.
